I had a great experience at this small, modest motel. the rooms were clean and tidy, featuring comfortable beds and warm geothermal heating. It's located in a quiet area, just a short walk to the hot pools in Tokaanu.

Walls were very thin. Some noise from neighbors.

The rooms are heated and generous-sized, with coffee/tea making equipment, a multi-channel television, and a dining area. The staff is amiable and caring as well as hotel's owner.

Lovely little hotel in a beautiful quiet area near ski fields, and national parks. Amazing service, amazingly friendly staff. A great-sized and newly renovated and reasonably priced room in the 2nd bedroom.

the experience was truly enjoyable. the highlight of my stay was the private hot mineral pools, where I could relax and unwind after a long day of meetings. These pools, available for free guest use, provided an ideal escape—perfectly heated and quite peaceful. the room I stayed in was clean, spacious, and maintained a cozy atmosphere, with central heating ensuring a warm environment. the motel's location in Tokaanu was conveniently just a short drive from Turangi, allowing for easy access to local dining options like the nearby Tokaanu Tavern. it offered a delightful blend of comfort and tranquility.

Odd room layout.

The pool area was amazing and the location was great and awesome, adjacent to Taupo, and Tongariro national park. Furthermore, down from the mountain.

the unit we got was impeccably clean and retro with bathroom. everything here was great. the hotel's location was great and lovely down from the mountain. liked our stay, would love to go back.

The location of this place was great, within walking distance to amenities, a different town, and a snowy area, only 2 km from Waihi Bay.

The rooms here are newly renovated and come with nice furniture in the bedroom, and the staff is friendly and attentive.

We only stayed at the Rainbow Motel & Hot Pools for 1 night, but everything was great. the standard apartment was spacious and had good cooking facilities, comfortable furnishings, and a separate bedroom.

We chilled in the hot mineral pools all night and felt like total legends—totally perfect after a long day of adventure. The beds were super comfy too, which was a lifesaver after all the fun we had! One bummer was the missing poolside Bluetooth speaker for our party vibes. Seriously, imagine the late-night hangouts with tunes!
